Subcontract

Self-perform where it matters.

In our primary service states — MD, NJ, NY, VA, and PA — our own licensed crews, project managers, and supervisors execute the work. Consistent quality. Direct accountability. No finger-pointing between tiers of subs.

Outside our self-perform footprint, we deliver through a network of vetted trade partners. Every project runs through our project management and QC discipline regardless of geography.

Project Capability

Projects we scope and win.

Typical project sizes, representative scopes, and the type of work we actively pursue across our four market segments.

Past performance note.

Obsidian Abel Electric JV operates with the established past performance of its parent companies. Detailed past performance citations — project size, client, period, references — are provided in capability statements and RFP responses upon request.

$50K – $250K
Quick-Turn Task Orders

Single-site electrical upgrades, security system installations, generator PM kickoffs, low-voltage pulls, and small tenant improvements. Typical duration: 4–8 weeks.

$250K – $1M
Facility-Scale Installations

Multi-system installations across a single facility — fire alarm paired with access control, 100+ camera migrations, building automation retrofits, generator modernization.

$1M – $5M+
Multi-Site Programs

Enterprise-scale programs across multiple sites — warehouse portfolio surveillance refreshes, multi-campus electrical upgrades, federal IDIQ task order programs.

About the Joint Venture

Two firms. One accountable delivery.

Obsidian Abel Electric JV is a joint venture combining two complementary capability sets into a single accountable contracting entity. One side brings strategic federal capture, program management, and IT/cybersecurity depth. The other brings multi-decade electrical trade licensing, fire alarm certification, and field execution.

The logic of the JV is simple: the federal market — and increasingly the commercial market — rewards firms that can deliver complete building infrastructure through a single contract vehicle. Separate trade and IT contractors create integration risk. We eliminate it by owning both disciplines inside one firm.

The result: a contracting partner that shows up with licensed electricians, fire alarm techs, low-voltage crews, network engineers, and security analysts — all operating under shared project management, shared QC, and shared client accountability.

We are deliberate about scale. Self-perform footprint across MD, NJ, NY, VA, and PA. Outside those states, we deliver through vetted subcontract partners with the same discipline applied to selection, oversight, and closeout.
